Underwriter - up to 65K, banking

Job Responsibilities:

• Respond to underwriting requests for credit extensions and conduct annual reviews for complex securitized loan portfolios.
• Conduct due diligence, prepare internal committee packages, and obtain credit approvals.
• Collaborate with loan/bond sale teams for syndication and work with Rating Agencies.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reviews to track borrower compliance with Credit Agreement covenants.
• Understand Citibank products and services within Corporate Banking and Global Markets.
• Ensure compliance with Citibank credit and regulatory policies.
• Leverage credit background to achieve Credit Officer designation.
• Provide backup to underwriting team members and recommend process improvements.
• Assess risk in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, and manage control issues transparently.

Job Requirements:

• 5-8+ years of credit experience, with at least 3 years in securitized loan underwriting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage priorities, and complete tasks independently.
• Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft programs.
• Excellent analytical and computer skills, with the ability to quickly adopt new technology.
• Knowledge of lending Underwriting Guidelines and Rating Agency processes for securitized products.
• Ability to manage internal and external relationships with tact and composure.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and summarize legal documents.
• Familiarity with loan transactions under market standard syndication loan format.
• Willingness to travel (10-20% of the time) on short notice.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) for handling the China market.
